Charity Requests

Southampton Football Club has a commitment to supporting charitable requests and subscribes to the objective of using the power of football to support positive change in the wider community.

With the Club receiving over 200 requests per week for signed merchandise or charitable support for worthwhile causes, inevitably we cannot support all enquiries, therefore the Club has created a policy to ensure items are distributed fairly and that the funds raised through auctions, reach the maximum level.

Please note Southampton Football Club does not make monetary donations. Due to the high volume of requests the Club also does not support personal enquiries for signed merchandise for events such as birthdays or weddings. These categories should visit the Saints Foundation auction site for available merchandise which can be purchased.

The following information outlines the application process for charitable support. Southampton Football Club is more likely to support applications that meet one or more of the following guidelines:-

• An organisation which has a current relationship with SFC
• Is from a local Registered Charity
• The fund raising will benefit people in the Southampton area.
• The fund raising will benefit people in the Hampshire area.
• Is linked to social inclusion
• Supports the development of young people.
• Is linked to sporting activity or health

We are less likely to support requests that are:-

• Outside the Hampshire area
• National Charities
• Short notice requests
• Unlikely to raise significant funds for the charity (e.g. a small raffle as opposed to a dinner auction.)
• Not from, or on behalf of a registered Charity.

Schools and Junior Football Clubs

We receive a significant level of requests from schools and junior football clubs. We cannot service all these requests and will therefore give priority to those clubs / schools who are either affiliated through the Club Saints membership scheme or a school who has a coaching relationship with the Saints Foundation.

Alternative funding opportunities are available for both schools and junior football clubs through the following:-

Football Foundation

Junior Kit Scheme
The aim of this scheme is to support Under 18 teams and adults with disabilities by offering free kit and equipment up to the value of £400. The voucher can only be exchanged in the exclusive catalogue of our nominated supplier - Nike.

The scheme has been running for more than ten years and has helped provide kit and equipment to nearly 300,000 individuals in clubs and schools up and down the country.

Grow the Game
Grow the Game provides funding for projects that use football to increase participation by both players and volunteers. This is done by supporting the costs associated with providing new activity. Organisations setting up one team are able to receive £2,500 over two years with financial support being reduced in the second year of the project

Grow the Game is an extremely popular scheme and the assessment process is competitive, therefore we strongly recommend that before making an application you contact your local County Football Association's Development Manager to discuss your project.

For the full criteria on both funding schemes or access to the online application form visit
www.footballfoundation.org or call 0845 345 4555.
