The Saints Foundation is pleased to announce it’s second of three Official Charity Partners of Southampton Football Club for the 2010 / 11 season.
The official local charity partner is The Society of St James. St James is based in the Stadium’s immediate community and is the largest homelessness charity in Southampton supporting over 3000 people each year. It was established in 1972 to provide accommodation and support to homeless people in the city, and now offers a range of services for vulnerable adults.
Sam Perry, Fund Raising Officer commented “We are delighted to be partnering with the Saints over the next two seasons and know that having such a high profile partner will help highlight the good work that Society of St James undertakes within the Southampton community.
The people that we support often have a diversity of complex issues, including homelessness, addictions, and mental health problems and therefore we have developed services to include supported housing for homeless people, drug services, Jamie’s Computers (our training and employment project), and a residential care home for older homeless people. SSJ depends and relies on the generosity of its supporters and we hope that the fantastic Saints supporters will also adopt us.”

To commence the partnership The Society of St James receives a donation of £4000 and the Saints Foundation looks forward to developing the partnership to raise funds and awareness for the Southampton based charity over the next two years.
