Saints Foundation had the prestigious honour of being invited to stage a Winter Reception at the House of Lords to celebrate the impact of the charity’s work in the local community. The event held at one of the world’s most iconic and historically significant buildings is a testament to the Foundation’s growing reputation as an influential charity within Southampton and the surrounding area.
The event in partnership with local charity U Support was themed “Made in Southampton” and Hosted by The Right Reverend Lord Bishop of Exeter, Dr Michael Langrish, himself originally from Southampton having attended Tanner’s Brook and King Edward’s school in the city.
With over 200 guests in attendance, the evening was a celebration of the Saints Foundation’s and U Supports’s work in the local community with both charities focused on making a difference to disadvantaged young people and vulnerable adults in Southampton.
Tina Croucher, a supporter of the Saints Foundation commented, “It was an incredible experience to visit such an institution as the House of Lords and a fitting location to celebrate the work of the Foundation. I’m immensely proud to support the charity and see the positive impact it makes.”
Supporting the event was Executive Chairman of Southampton Football Club and Saints Ambassador Nicola Cortese along with a range of dignities, from the Football lndustry, local and national businesses, the public sector and the House of Lords. The evening was also a great opportunity to thank the many supporters and partners of the Saints Foundation, with guests enjoying a pre event tour behind the scenes before enjoying the hospitality of the House of Lords.
The event highlighted the fantastic work of both charities with the Foundation showcasing the successful Saints 4 Sport project which supports adults with life challenges such as homelessness and substance misuse in partnership with the Society of St James. It was also a once in a lifetime opportunity for a number of guests who have benefitted from the Foundation’s positive work with representatives from the Saints Disability football team and the Saints 4 Sport project enjoying the opportunity to tour the venue and discuss their experiences with guests.
The event was also an opportunity to launch a new project Dream Day’s in partnership with U Support, offering disadvantaged, disabled children and those suffering from life threatening illness, the opportunity to have a VIP day out with Southampton Football Club.
