28th October 2012, may seem along way off, but the BUPA Great South Run 2012 was officially launched recently with an anticipated 30 000 runners taking part of the weekends events in Southsea, and the Saints Foundation is looking for 25 fans to join the ‘Saints GSR Squad 2012’ to run the 10miles and raise funds for the Charity.
Each participant is asked to raise £250 contributing directly to the Foundation’s fundraising targets for the 2011/12 season to support disadvantaged young people and vulnerable adults in our local community, click here for further information.
25 runners completed the course in 2011 on behalf of the Saints Foundation which was a fantastic experience for all involved. Andy White was one of the Saints GSR Squad 2011 and commented, “The event was a fantastic experience and a great sense of achievement both personally and regarding the funds raised for the Foundation. I would recommend anyone thinking about a challenge for this year to sign up for 2012 Saints GSR squad!”
The BUPA Great South Run 2012 forms part of the Foundation’s True Saints Challenges for the next 12 months and the Saints participants will qualify for a True Saints Award to be presented at the inaugural True Saints Award ceremony at St Marys Stadium in 2013.
